Berkley-Pendell Scholarship Competition for piano is an annual event open to all school-aged students of (ISMTA) members who have met certain requirements. The Berkley-Pendell Scholarship was established to encourage and promote the cause of good music. The winners of each division are awarded cash prizes, in addition to other honors and recognition.

The local ISMTA chapters which sponsor and participate in this annual piano competition are:  
Salt Creek, Naperville, West Suburban.

The Berkley-Pendell Piano Competition and Festival is scheduled for Sunday, 16th April, 2026, 1:00-7PM, College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn. All requirements, repertoire, application materials and deadline are to be available on the Berkley-Pendell website. Selection of all repertoire is to be correlated with the AIM stipulated listings and levels of students in Grade 5 through Grade 12. Alternative repertoire is acceptable for all Festival entries with further Berkley-Pendell approval.  The breadth of all young pianists’ musical experience and opportunity remains paramount.
